"Economy Grade Bulb Sale"

Much of our late fall harvest is completed now but we will continue to dig right up until the week before Christmas. As is always the case, some bulbs come in a little undersize. Though all have flowered this past season, they are not up to the size you, our customers, have come to expect. Normally they are either used for scaling for producing more bulbs in the future or are simply planted back and dug again the following year. All of these bulbs measure out at 14/16 cms in circumference.

We are in the process of moving into a new field of fresh soil that previously cropped beans and mint, which makes outstanding soil for growing lily bulbs. Three years from now it will be time to move the bulbs once again to fresh virgin soil for the next cycle. Rather than having a "patchwork quilt" of small batches that are not cost effective to maintain, we have elected to offer them to you at a discount this fall. Unlike the “Scratch and Dent” sale bulbs which have all sold out now, these bulbs simply are not large enough to label as commercials. There are no missing scales from bruising or other mechanical damage. They simply are a bit small. Again, all produced from 1 to 3 flowers this past summer.

All bulbs are sold in packages of 6 at a discount of 50% from our regular retail price. Quantities are limited and there will be no back orders. Once they are gone, they are gone.
