Product Description

Intermediate height blend of many colors, leaning mostly to two-toned, bright clear colors of rose, violet, cream and coral. Make wonderful cut flowers and the height also allows for them to be placed within a narrow border, without being too overpowering. This is a mix of 8 to 12 varieties. Unlike the other Gladiolus pictured and grown in the USA, this mix of named cultivars is imported direct from their hybridizer in Holland. We do not have our own photos to share this spring, so are offering them only as a “mix” to trial in your garden this summer, with named cultivars pictured in next spring’s catalog. 2.5 to 4 Feet. 85 to 110 days to flower, depending on individual plants, so these naturally will be somewhat staggered in bloom.

Descriptions indicate general color and the average height of each cultivar, plus the average number of days from planting to bloom. Bear in mind that areas with cool springs or late frost will take longer to bloom, but short spring and hot summers will shorten the number of days, so we suggest only planting two or three groups, two weeks apart, to gauge the time it takes Glads to bloom in your unique micro-climate. Size of corm (bulb) varies, depending on cultivar; nearly all are graded “large” size 12/14 (#1), but a few are “medium” 10/12 (#2).
