Product Description
Classification: Interspecific Oriental Hybrid Lily (USDA Zones 5-10, but coldest climates require winter mulch.)
A lovely blending of L. longiflorum (Easter Lily) crossed with Oriental lilies, this amazing clone has the classic shape of the Easter Lily species, but heavy flower texture and disposition of an Oriental lily bulb. 'Triumphator' carries a lighter scent than do pure oriental hybrids. The flower centers are deep pink, almost maroon in our cool northwest climate. Planting in bright shade in warmer areas will help deepen the color, but staking may be required if the stems begin to lean towards the sun. 3 to 4 feet. July.
ECONOMY 12-PACKS Bulb size is smaller on these bulbs than we normally sell due to our cold and rainy spring and summer. Bulbs for next year’s catalog and web sales are in the ground, so these are not required for propagation. Expect one to three flowers at most during next summer, with many more to come in the years that follow. Plant with 4 inches of soil covering bulbs, even though they are smaller in size, they still need to be well-anchored against wind. Mulch for the winter (after soil freezes) in the Midwest and other severe-winter climates.
