Lily Bulb Description

Flower Description: Bred by Johan Mak of Scio, Oregon, ‘Orange Valley’ the third in his “valley” series of predominately pendant or down facing type lilies being introduced by B & D Lilies for 2010. We wish that “Orange Valley” was an exotic tourist destination that we could refer to in our description, but alas, it is only a 2300 acre plot of land in Jamaica. So where did the name come from? Well, it is orange and it is part of the valley series.

That aside, this is a very “exotic” lily that commonly produces fifteen or more buds per stem on established plants. They are bright orange and have just a small halo of spots on the inner one-third of each blossom. To say the saturated orange color is outstanding is an understatement. ‘Orange Valley’ has been selected as one of the Garden Clubs of Virginia competition varieties for 2011. A strong grower with a very sturdy stem that needs no staking. 3 to 4 feet or taller. June Flowering. Unscented.

Bulb Size - Our standard for bulbs of this lily cultivar ranges from Premium-size» (16/18 cm) to Exhibition-size» (over 20 cm). Click here for details.

Classification: Longiflorum-Asiatic Hybrid Lily Bulb (USDA Zones 3-10, lows to -40° F.)
